Daniel :: 9 Months

A couple of our best friends came up to visit last night so we could do their son, Daniel's 9 month photo session.  I just cannot believe how quickly he is growing up.  I just love his budding personality!  All evening, I kept telling Margo, "He just can't take a bad photo!" and, as you'll see, it's completely true!!  Thank you, Margo, for letting me continue to practice on your sweet boy.  I love you guys! Rose Family Session

This session has been in the works for a while and I'm so excited to finally be able to share this sweet family with you!  Alisha asked me a couple months ago about taking some family photos for them.  They are in the process of moving from the St. Louis area to California (jealous!), so it was tricky to find a weekend when we were all in the same place.  We all braved the heat and humidity of late July, and they were such troopers!  I had a blast chasing around their 3 kiddos- full of life, curiousity and fun!  Bella is the resident nature lover/book reader, Xavier  ran circles around me and (as you will notice) Jude wanted nothing to do with me.  Lucky for us, even Jude's "leave me alone" face is adorable!  I am sincerely sad I didn't get to know this awesome family more when I lived close by; they are wonderful people and CA is Very lucky to have them!  (O:

Thank you again, Alisha, for trusting me with your family's photos.  It was a joy to have a sneak peek into your lifesong and capture some wonderful moments.  Enjoy. (O:

LeeAnn's Baby Bump

Last month, I met up with my good friend LeeAnn to take her maternity photos.  She really wanted to make it a family shoot and I loved that!  A new baby definitely includes big sister Avery and Daddy Ryan too.  We met at Lafayette Square Park in St. Louis.  I think we picked the hottest day of July and they were all troopers!  I just found out yesterday that LeeAnn has been put on bedrest for the rest of her pregnancy.  I pray for everyone's comfort and good health while we wait for little Miss Nora(h) to make her arrival!

Watching Daniel Grow

One of my best friends, Margo, has been so encouraging over the past almost year.  She has allowed me to practice and learn, using her family as models!  (O:  We did her maternity shoot last fall, and since then I have taken her son, Daniel's 3 month photos and 6 month photos.  I can't believe how fast time flies...we are already talking about his 9 month photos for this month!  Slow down, sweet boy!

Here are a few of my favorites from Daniel's 3 month session:

And here are a few of my favorites from his 6 month shoot:

Margo and Daniel, I cannot wait to see you soon for 9 month photos!  All your baby boy curls are gone and you're getting bigger every day!  (O:

First Photoblog Post!

Hello there!  Welcome to my Photoblog!  Let me start by telling you a little about me:

I have been married for 4 years and have 2 year old daughter.  My whole life, I have always enjoyed snapping photos of every day life.  But, it wasn't until about a year after my daughter was born that I really started learning about Photography.  I didn't want just snapshots, I wanted photos that captured the moment and forever sealed the memories we were making every day.  I have so much left to learn, but over the past year I have really started growing into more than just a crazy lady with a camera.

I have a full-time, out-of-the-home job and also have a handful of additional responsibilities as a Pastor's wife.  So, photography started as a light hobby and is quickly picking up the pace.  I hope someday to be able to focus more time and energy on my passion for photography.  But for right now I squeeze in every opportunity I can to help a family capture the special moments they want to remember forever.

As you can see from my Blog Title, this is Lifesong Photography.  If you are at all familiar with the Christian band, Casting Crowns, this might ring a bell.  They have a song entitled "Lifesong" that has always spoken to my heart.  Our every day lives should always be a reflection of our Maker and I wanted that wonderful reminder stamped on my work here as well.  That is my desire as a photographer, to always be a person whose life points to Christ every day.  I also want to help families capture the sweet moments that make up their lifesongs.  God has made such a beautiful world, full of beautiful people and I want to do my best to showcase his wonderous works in each and every photo.

So, thank you for stopping by.  I hope you enjoy what you see!
