IHF Challenge: Enjoying Life

In the midst of all the training we have been doing over the past month, we have started getting pretty creative in finding ways to amuse ourselves, as well as keep cool in the rising temperatures.  The man pictured here was especially excited about our "hilly billy water slide", as you can clearly see in his facial expression.  Our group of missionaries has been growing together through training and definitely enjoying life!

Brecken :: Newborn

I am very tardy in posting this session!  This past December, I had the pleasure of meeting little Mr. Brecken for the first time and had the honor of capturing his newborn moments.  I met up with his parents and older brother this past fall for Lacey's maternity session and was so excited to finally meet this little miracle!  His brother, Kaiden is (I think) 8 years older than he is and Lacey's doctors told her she would never have any more children.  They were all very surprised to find out Brecken was on his way and couldn't be more thrilled!  Brecken had a few medical issues (Lacey told me the specific medical terms, but I'm not good at remembering those things) and Lacey was under a close watch during her pregnancy.  Thankfully, Brecken was born with no complications and is healthy! 

Brecken wasn't entirely interested in sleeping for his session, so we spent a lot of time looking into his sweet little eyes and finally lulled him to sleep wrapped up in a receiving blanket.  Kaiden is so proud of his little brother and I know he will be an excellent big brother!  It was a joy to visit with this family again and capture this newest part of their wonderful lifesong.  Thank you, Lacey, Kevin, Kaiden and Brecken for letting me part of this exciting time!  Enjoy!

I Heart Faces Challenge :: Hearts

This is my favorite photo of my daughter at the moment.  Even if you cannot completely read her little "I Love You" sign, you can see the love in her eyes!  She loves all things frilly and pink, so her outfit captures her personality perfectly.  This bench is one of my go-to props because it keeps busy little feet sitting in one place.  I love the hearts peeking from behind Emilia- Love is all around!  I have this photo up at work because it always makes me smile.  (O:

Stanley and Caleb :: Newborn Twins

I am so excited to share this post!  My good friends Daniel and Erin had a hard time getting pregnant, trying for over 2 years before these two little miracles came along!  They are so cuddly and sweet, both with very different personalities already.  They slept the whole time I was there which was helpful since this was my first time shooting twins.  Dan is an avid STL Cardinals fan and Erin is a Chicago Cubs fan, so the boys' room and most of their wardrobe (haha) has a very fun Cards vs Cubs theme.  Starting that rivalry off early! (O:  It was great to spend some time with my friends and help capture this exciting part of their Lifesong.  Enjoy!

Tirado :: Family

Here is another great session with the Tirados!  I had to wait on this one as well, until after Christmas cards were out.  I met Margo, DJ and Daniel at one of our favorite wineries for this session.  It was a gorgeous fall day and we had a great time together.  Enjoy!

Leeper Ladies

I have been chomping at the bit to post this session!!  My oldest best friend Jessca asked me back in October about doing a photo session as a gift to her husband, Jake.  She wanted photos of her with her two sweet girls as well as their two dogs.  I love her daughters so much- they are full of energy and fun!  This was my first experience shooting with any pets and it wasn't so bad!  I'm not exactly a pet person (gasp, I know!), but her dogs were so well behaved that it was as easy and fun as usual.  Jake's birthday was at the end of November and Christmas cards should be out, so I'm finally free to share these adorable faces with you!  Enjoy! Nora :: Newborn

A few weeks ago I spent the day with baby Nora and her family.  (You can view LeeAnn's maternity shoot here.)  It was such a special day.  LeeAnn and I have been friends for almost 20 years (wow!! Is that right??)  It was such an honor to capture sweet moments with their family.  You can see the love Ryan and LeeAnn have for their little girls, as well as the love big sister Avery has for Nora.  Thank you, friend, for inviting me to into your home to capture a few moments of your lifesong with your growing family.
